Cisco® China today announced that it received an award as one of the 25 most respected companies of China. The award was presented jointly by The Economic Observer, a leading business newspaper, and the Management Case Center of Peking University, a top business research institute.

In a time where companies like Danone, McDonald’s, Dell, and Starbucks are getting their fair share of negative press (and blogs), CISCO has found a way to come out on top as part of the 2006 Most Respected Companies of China Awards.

Congratulations.

What is particularly good to see is that the list of award winners include Chinese and Western companies.

As as an aside to this, and to put to rest any cynics, I am proud to say that CISCO has been a CorpWorks! partner of Hands On Shanghai. With a team of 20, their volunteers go out EVERY WEEKEND in smaller groups and are teaching migrant school children a variety of subjects.

They are organized, they are excited, and it is really refreshing to see that the program is beginning to produce results.

Congratulations to CISCO and all the other recipients.
