When Brad Setser Says to Read Something, I Suggest You Do It

Brad Setser has become a regular read of mine for his stellar coverage of all things macroeconomic.  Currently at the Council on Foreign Relations, he has put together a lot of excellent China posts and his recent one If you only read one thing on China this fall … caught my attention.

What he says is a must read is the latest World Bank China Quarterly.

David Dollar, Louis Kuijs and their colleagues have outdone themselves – and in the process provided a clear assessment of the sources of China’s current slowdown and the risks that lie ahead.

to be honest, I have not had time to read it yet (I will after my Spanish Turkey!), but I suggest you do.

to see Brad’s full analysis, you can go to his post  If you only read one thing on China this fall …

UPDATE: For another excellent read (I did read this), go to China’s economic reforms pushed by civil society.  I have spoken to a number of the writers behind East Asia forum, and I completely agree that most outside of China do not fully appreciate the number of plates that Beijing is spinning right now.. and the role of China’s civil society plays into the show.

Rich, you and I are entirely on the same page. I almost simultaneously posted my take on the World Bank report and Brad’s comments on CN Reviews.
