We are proud to announce the release of our latest industry report, Recent Changes in the Rearview Mirror, and the Road Ahead . The first in several reports soon to come, we hope that this report will give you some idea of the changes that the logistics industry is about to undergo.

China’s logistics industry has changed dramatically in the last 15 years, in tandem with the country’s booming economic growth and the requirements of WTO membership. As local companies have picked up their game and learn to compete more efficiently with multinational competitors, key opportunities for foreign companies have been provided by increased WTO regulations and requirements within China.

As both domestic and foreign companies expand their scope of business, the industry has seen more and more mergers and acquisitions, reflecting the situation the U.S. market saw in the 1980s and 90s. Local and multinational companies have a lot to learn from each other’s business models and existing network of relationships. As the industry continues to develop in China, the largest opportunities for multinational competitors will be increased competition, the establishment of a national logistics network and increased M&A opportunities.
