If you have noticed that traffic on All Roads has slowed a bit (I am behind on a couple of serial posts) is that I am project managing the 2006 AMCHAM Make a Difference Day (read month).

Following a hugely successful 2005 program (see: AMCHAM 2005 Wrap Up), AMCHAM in partnership with Hands On Shanghai, is expanding to 13 programs with over 20 separate corporate partners (full details here: AMCHAM 2006 Announcement).

With many of the programs being building related, we are happy to also have as a partner B&Q who have generously donated all the paint and materials needed to execute on the programs. Nearly 200L of paint, 100 rollers and brushes, 40 flower boxes, 4 shovels, 2 brooms, and a couple thousand meters of tape.

The AMCHAM Make a Difference Day, is by far the most coordinated effort by any of the business organizations to promote and foster CSR awareness in Shanghai. With the experience of managing 2 now, I can see that their commitment to CSR is having a definite impact on employees who partake in the AMCHAM Make a Difference Day.

This year, we are already fortunate to be fully booked with teams coming from GE, Briggs & Stratton, Deloitte & Touche, Corning, Ashland Valvoline, and others.
For those of you in Shanghai there are regular breakfast and luncheon meetings that are offered where companies can learn about CSR initiatives, meet others who are responsible for managing CSR related activities, and activate truly meaningful programs.
