Well. Maybe it is not completely free of NPLs, but with this week’s official kickoff of China Post Bank, the first relatively NPL free bank is now open.
Why is it NPL free? Simple. It wasn’t allowed to issue commercial loans, and was in fact only allowed to accept deposits.
Now that it is open for business, one can be sure the bank will take on NPLs as it learns about RISK MANAGEMENT. However, in comparison to many of the other local, regional, and state banks, China Post is on the strongest platform and with a network of 37,000 branches… it has reach.
